Job Description

Glenmore Country Club in Keswick Virginia is looking for a highly motivated and driven Personal Trainer/Group Fitness Instructor to join our growing program. Glenmore Country Club is located in a gated community approximately 15 minutes east of Charlottesville and 45 minutes west of the Richmond area. The club is a full service country club that offers Golf, Racquet Sports, Fitness, Swimming, and Dining facilities. Our membership is very active and has enjoyed the growth of our program over the past few years and we are looking to continue to expand our program offerings.

Compensation for this position will be based on experience. Commission for private and group training/workshops along with hourly rate for classes included. Hours are very flexible and can be worked out with client schedules. Weekend hours are not required, however, we have had inquiries for weekend instruction. Minimal administration required. Two to four class hours of AM class instruction and 4 to 6 hours of individual training will be available at date of hire for the right candidate. Instructor being replaced made in excess of 25K part time. There is a lot more potential for the right person with the right work ethic.

Job Requirements

• Current CPR/AED Certification and basic first aid training is required.
• Minimum of six months teaching in a group exercise environment along with demonstrated knowledge of group exercise principles and safe exercise techniques.
• Maintain nationally recognized Training/Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NASM, or bachelors degree in exercise science or other similar education.
• Specialized skill/training such as Yoga, Pilates, Body Pump, Spin, etc.
• Demonstrated engaging and motivational leadership with adaptability to effectively engage participants and achieve a great member experience.
• Positive and effective interpersonal communication skills
• Lead and delivers group fitness classes that begin and end promptly, and adheres to the format, standards, and times scheduled.
• Ability to work with a variety of fitness levels and motivate clients/class participants to achieve fitness goals while continually monitoring for signs of injury, illness, or overexertion
• Helps to maintain cleanliness and organization of the group exercise room and fitness center, ensuring all equipment is in order and stored properly.
• Communicates with other staff members and administration in a prompt, clear manner.
