Job Summary:

The General Manager (GM) drives outstanding results at our core competencies: selling memberships and providing excellent member service by exceeding expectations. The GM should think of a club as his/her business and is responsible for the results in his/her club and contributing to the company’s overall success.

Job Requirements

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years’ experience in a Health Club / Fitness facility preferred
• 3-5 years’ experience working directly with customers/members and delivering high-satisfaction rates
• 3+ years leading managers and multi-department teams
• Experience with financial reporting and reconciliation (budgets, profit & loss statements specifically)
• 2+ years in a sales-driven environment, similar to health clubs, with a proven track record of improving sales year-over-year
• Current CPR certification or the ability to pass CPR certification within in 60 days of hire date.
• Must be competitive, numbers-oriented with a strong drive to achieve
• Ability to make decisions based on research, facts, conditions, knowledge and confidence
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Outstanding organization and time management skills
• Ability to adapt willingly and quickly to changing priorities, responsibilities, needs and expectations
• Experienced at monitoring progress; taking corrective action
• Bilingual skills a plus
• Effectively present information to a large group to inspire and inform.
• Ability to demonstrate professionalism, cooperation and ability to work well with all parties
• Knowing when to seek counsel when position, knowledge or confidence warrant assistance or approval
Work Environment/ Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, changes in temperature/humidity; moving mechanical parts and vibration and exercise equipment; frequently required to stand, walk 4-8hours/8 hour day; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; and frequently use both feet and move them forward/backward and side to side; seldom required to sit; frequently to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and continuously reach and twist, including side-to-side movements; carry or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift, carry or move 26-50 pounds.
