GENERAL SUMMARY: The General Manager (GM) has overall responsibility for effectively managing all membership, fitness, and operational functions within the gym to achieve financial success and provide the best member and team member experience. The GM recruits, hires, trains and develops a diverse, high performance team that delivers on UFC Gym goals and reflects its values.

Job Description:

The General Manager's primary responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the location includes, but is not limited to managing and contributing to the following areas:
Strong Membership sales experience is key: This is not a process paperwork position as is at typical big box clubs. We offer a unique product and service and we need a unique manager who has deep skills in selling valued products and services; not high volume but high value.
Create lead traffic and generate sales.
Personal training sales:Work along-side Instructors to help promote fitness assessments and sales.
Merchandise sales: Promote sale of all apparel and workout gear sold in the club
Creative local marketing: Work with owners and National Marketing Director on marketing efforts.
Staff performance management and development. Continued training, coaching, and grooming of all staff across front desk and trainers.
Location sanitation and maintenance. Ensure cleaning is a top priority of the club staff as this is a top requirement from customers.
Professional customer service. Ensure maximum retention of members and work on various programs to harbor maximum retention, renewals, and minimum amount of cancellations.

1) Knowledge, skills & abilities

Experience managing reports, budgeting, revenue, payroll, and/or demonstrated math analytical / ratio skills knowledge of fitness industry.
Strong organizational skills and customer service orientation with proven results.
Experience with basic computer skills like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Documents, and PowerPoint.
Strong and proven leadership, communication, time management, and analytical abilities and skills.
2) Minimum certifications/educational level

High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
3) Minimum experience

2-3 years of progressive management experience supervising 3-10 employees.
3-5 years of sales or related experience.
4) Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 50-120 lbs., stand for up to 8-12 hours.
Must have adequate transportation to and from work, to scheduled meetings, and/or to networking events.
