The position will be responsible the executing a retail-embedded strategy around a new venture that will expand our ability to upgrade more lives. The candidate will work as a member of an integrated team in an adidas retail flagship store in New York City and will play a key role in connecting store visitors to proactive health strategies across Mindset, Nutrition, Movement, and Recovery as well as product. This position will help a combined EXOS-adidas team test, learn, and apply different engagement models and link back with feedback on effectiveness of different strategies and recommendations for evolution. The individual will also lead education sessions for store team members, store visitors, and local industry influencers. This individual will garner significant experience in a fast growing, entrepreneurial environment that requires propensity for action and an enthusiasm for helping people get healthier, perform at their best, and achieve more in life. We are trailblazing a new category and are looking for a high-energy, extroverted, results-driven Performance Specialist to bring to life an innovative approach to reaching consumers in a retail setting.

Duties and Responsibilities (What does success look like?)
- Seeking to understand consumer needs, wants, and desires and meeting them with appropriate recommendations and education
- Educating store staff on the EXOS Human Performance System
- Helping to relationship manage a network of local industry influences
- Educating industry influencers on the EXOS Human Performance System
- Performing in-store performance assessment and screening to consumers
- Connecting back to a broader EXOS/adidas team and participating in an iterative process focused on evolving and scaling the in-store experience
- Collaborating with the in-store Consumer Experience Manager (Concierge Service) on developing “where to go” recommendations for store visitors to explore NYC while maintaining a healthy lifestyle
- Collaborating with adidas Activation Manager to create and execute world-class event experiences

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent understanding of human performance
- Excellent motivational interviewing skills
- Excellent understanding of Nutrition and adidas-sponsored nutrition products
- Proficiency with facilitating behavior upgrades across many different populations
- High levels of organization and intrinsic motivation
- Enjoyment of the fluidity around managing a new and innovative concept
- Ability to understand footwear and apparel design and features and be able to connect consumers with appropriate product for their goals
- Ability to problem-solve various operational issues
- Ability lead group training and education sessions
- Ability to maintain high levels of positivity and energy across numerous face-to-face interactions day in and day out

Job Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in the Human Performance field
- Experience employing motivational interviewing and behavior upgrade facilitation skills
- At least 2 years of professional experience training clients
