Job Description

HealthFitness has a great new opportunity for a Wellness Program Coordinator at our corporate client site in Cupertino, CA! This comprehensive health and fitness position provides a wide range of services to improve the health and well-being of the entire employee population, including the development and implementation of wellness newsletters, health screenings, wellness presentations, and lunch and learn seminars, fitness center management and much more. This is a great role for someone who is or would like to become a health coach!

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
•Support various wellness programs including helping plan and deliver wellness fairs, seminars and other events through planning, marketing and various related tasks as needed.
•Provides individual and group exercise instruction; educates participants on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness; Creates and maintains group exercise schedule and marketing of schedule.
•Conduct health assessments, one on one exercise programming (personal training) and provide education to participants.
•Assists with the tracking and delivery of a variety of HealthFitness and program-specific health improvement programs & promotions.
•Promotes program offerings and conducts outreach activities to increase participation and engage program participants.
•Other duties as needed/assigned.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Required:
•Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Health Education, Kinesiology, exercise science, etc.).
•Current First Aid and CPR/AED or BLS certification through the AHA or Red Cross is required.
•Proficiency in fitness assessment and exercise prescription.
•Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.
•Experience with public speaking, presenting and delivering dynamic and engaging health promotion programs and presentations.
•Competency in the delivery of HealthFitness and site-specific programs and services.
•Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook.
•Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
•Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative and creativity.

Preferred:
•Experience instructing group exercise classes (Especially Circuit training, boot camp and Zumba, Yoga).
•Recognized industry certification in Group Exercise Instruction (Yoga and Zumba certifications are helpful).
•Personal Training industry certification from ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NSCA, or NASM.
•CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist).
